Do you know what to do if a tornado is approaching your home? Are you interested in learning how local emergency response agencies work together in local disasters? The Caddo-Bossier Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Management will be offering a free twenty hour Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) training course at the Shreveport Fire and Training Academy starting April 6, 2010 and running for three additional Tuesday nights from 6:00 P.M. to 9:00 P.M. Participants must be at least 18 years of age and all training material including a light rescue bag is offered free of charge. As of June 9, 2009, CB-OHSEP has only received three confirmed students for the NIMS 300-400 Class which is far less than the required number expected by GOHSEP to have an effective course. Disaster Preparedness Training for Large Facilities (6/4/2009) |

What is swine flu?
Swine Influenza (swine flu) is a respiratory disease of pigs caused by type A influenza viruses that causes regular outbreaks in pigs. People do not normally get swine flu, but human infections can and do happen.
